Rhode Island Continuing Education Approvals Dbr

Earning a certification or designation can help you succeed in all aspects of your business. Successful licensees need to keep current on issues, technology, changing legalities, and other aspects of real estate to keep pace.  REALTORS® who pursue professional certifications and designations have a distinct competitive edge as a result of increased expertise and marketability.

The National Association of REALTORS® and its affiliated Institutes, Societies, and Councils including REBAC, REBI, and RRC, provide a wide range of programs through RI REALTORS® that assist members in increasing skills, proficiency, and knowledge.   When taken at RI REALTORS®, they have been approved for Continuing Education hours for license renewal in RI.

It is important to note some certifications and designations completing the course does not automatically grant you the credential. Education electives, annual fees or applications may apply in addition to completion of the course.

Not all designation/certification courses can be taken online for CE in RI.  This will be dependent on the school and whether they have received approval from RI DBR. There is no instructor/learner/peer interaction with online schools and in addition, many instructors at RI REALTORS® can speak to the local marketplace and specific RI state laws, systems, etc.

No. In order to receive CEs for a designation/certification course, you must take it with a school that is approved with RI DBR in order for it to count towards license renewal.

This will vary by designation/certification. Typically, the length of time can be found on the designation/certification webpage. If you need assistance, please contact [email protected].

Each certification/designation has different requirements (and benefits) whether it be elective courses, application fees, annual membership fees, etc. These requirements can be found on the NAR's webpage.

You will need to notify Professional Development when you complete local certifications such as the RI Rental and Property Management, REX and GRI only.  National designations and certifications are added by NAR to your NRDS profile once you complete the application process and complete all requirements.

These are indicated in the description and marketing.   You can also inquire by emailing [email protected]
